This sculpture was a part of and exhibition titled "Ecovention", curated by Sue Spaid and Amy Lipton. It was on view at The Contemporary Art Center in Cincinatti. When the silkworms had spun their cocoons, I attached them to the center structure. When they emerged, I hoped that at least a few might try to fly a short distance onto the catcher nets that I had set up around the perimeter. The blue shapes were cushions to break their fall in a gentle way if they couldn’t fly.
